ABOUT ferBooks
ferBooks is a cost-effective software solution for the book trade which allows comprehensive management of the acquisition, import and distribution of books and publications by wholesalers operating on a consigment basis.
The result of a 12 months collaboration betweeen Furry Software and a leading SME wholesale book importer and distributor, ferBooks has been designed to replace outmoded and inefficient software with a package which conforms to the modern needs of the trade at a fraction of the price of - and with more functionality than - other software packages currently available to SMEs.
FURRY SOFTWARE
Furry Software Pty Ltd [ABN 33 057 166 042] has been designing software solutions since 1992 on the Apple® OS - in particular sports recording software used by many schools and clubs around Australia. Since 1998 a major part of our business has also been involved in website design, domain management and internet marketing. In 2002, our subsidiary HiMac Computers became an authorised reseller of Apple Computers.
Designing specific solutions according to our clients' needs has always been the main focus of our business, as is an emphasis on technical support and assistance.
THE ferBooks SOFTWARE
ferBooks allows you to track all stock received on consignment (or purchase), raise invoices, receive payments, process a wide range of reports and manage inventory.
ferBooks is a runtime application compiled in FileMakerPro®. (You do not need to install FileMaker to make it work.) It includes databases for: Publishers, Titles, Customers, Stock, Invoices, Accounts Receivable.
Because it is a relational database it offers an extremely wide scope for cross-referencing and managing data and producing reports.
Most of the functionalities you require to run your business are pre-installed as routines allowing you to produce specific reports with only a few mouse clicks. Other features of the database also allow you to produce an almost unlimited range of reports as printouts or exports according to your needs.
The platform on which it is provided (see below) also contains a wide range of other software with which it can integrate, making ferBooks an extremely powerful and comprehensive software solution.
